Based in New York City, Ilario Colli is an author, philosopher and former classical music critic. His interests span philosophical aesthetics, literature, classical music, and the philosophy of mind. He is the recipient of numerous academic awards and has been called “Australia’s leading classical music critic.” His first book, In Art as in Life was described as “a major achievement for any writer”. On Dec 15, 2023 at New York’s prestigious Salmagundi Club, he officially launched a bold new art movement he’s called, ‘Sublimism’, which he proposes as a revolutionary alternative to Postmodernism. In the same month, he published a general handbook to the movement, called Sublimism: An introduction, co-authored with sublimist novelist, Raphael Chloé. With his current project, a work of original philosophy and the first complete system of metaphysics in the Western tradition since Schopenhauer’s World as Will and Representation, he seeks to synthesize Western continental philosophy, and the fundamentals of quantum physics and world spirituality into a unified account of the nature of reality.
